Biography:Daughter of Onésime Landry and of Geneviève LeBlanc, married Jacques Léonard Dupuis on May 19, 1920, Saint-Thomas Catholic church in Memramcook, New Brunswick. Places of residence: Village-du-Bois, Memramcook Est. Occupation/Education: housewife, seamstress. Groups/Associations: she hooked with her neighbours, was very generous and welcomed the priests into her home. Learning how to hook: probably from her mother, who had learned at teacher’s college in Fredericton. Bought printed patterns. Other members of her family who hooked: everyone took part in rughooking or hooked, the artist’s sister hooked. Why: Family use, social interaction, artistic expression, revenue, to overcome difficult times. More information: Francis Coutellier/gift to son for his birthday. Almost died twice: during the great fever epidemic and after the birth of her second to last child. It was her (or one of the women) who hooked Francis Coutellier’s mats.
