Biography:Place of residence: Farm/rural and city Occupation: Entrepreneur, owned a stall at the Saint John City Market in Uptown Saint John. Remembrances: The hooker is remembered as being bigger than life, happy, motivated, and thrifty. Hooking was done for family use, creative expression and income. Biography: Lived in Aponhaqui with her husband, she owned and ran a stall in Saint John's City Market which acted as her job, she had her son's help. Retired to Saint John from Apohaqui when her husband at the age of 70 where she then moved to Berwick. Emma May's mother asked Mary to make a moose mat. Mary said she did not have background colour, her mother gave her two baby quilts to use for the background colours. She thinks she drew the moose herself in the 1970's. Sold mats to her mother. Married (1) William Ernest Long; married (2) Percy L. Pollock in 1968
