| Biography: | Martha Geldart Steeves moved to Osborne Corner. She was a homemaker all her life. She worked hard on the farm, hooked all winter and sold the mats, some buyers coming from the United States to purchase them. The current owner remembers Martha, her mother, hooking by the fire with her dad in the rocking chair. Martha learned to hook from her mother, her father came from Germany and her mother's mother came from Prince Edward Island. Another sister of the current owner also hooked. |
