| Biography: | Daughter of Duncan Campbell and Annie Graham; married Albert Warren on 18 June 1918 in Fairville, New Brunswick Hooker's Place of Residence: farm Location of residence: South Branch, 1918-1952; Gagetown, 1952-1965 Ethic influences: Scottish, spoke French Occupation/education: Grade 8, Adult Ed. (Boston, Massachusetts) Groups: Red Cross (1940-1946), Presbyterian Church, local school board, Victory Bonds Creative, resourceful, leadership, flexible. Learned to hook from her mother and aunts at a young age and hooked for 60+ years. Sister, mother and aunts also hooked. Hooking was done for family use, social times, and creative expression and to get through the hard times and make the best use of disposed or recycled materials. Photos, genealogy, letters, obituary do exist, along with her ivory hook. She traded articles at the grocery store such as eggs, butter, jams and jellies. She organized various groups and boarded teachers. The family owned a flour mill in south Branch and a dairy farm. She had three brothers and her husband and brother-in-law owned a saw mill. |
