Biography:Place of residence: Farm/rural Location of residence: Pine Ridge, Kent County, New Brunswick; Ethnic Influences/background: English and possibly Scottish; Occupation: Worked in a hospital in the states in 1916 and returned to NB in 1918; Groups/Church and activities: Active in the church community and had a family of 10 children. Remembrances: She encouraged education and independence, in 1950 the family moved to Tide Head, NB, so that the children would have access to a high school education. How did the hooker learn: She started rug-hooking when she was age 16, and she stopped at age 76 (60 years). Possibly learned to hook from her mother. Hooking was done for family use.
