Biography:Eugenie Richard Robichaud moved to Gardiner, Massachusetts (family history says it was Fisherville, Massachusetts) at the age of fourteen where she met her husband Amedee Robichaud, May 20, 1912. They later moved back to Saint-Antoine. He was a businessman, owned a garage and sawmill and was a post master where Eugenie also worked. She often fed the mill workers lunches. She belonged to the Liberal Association and raised ten children including former Premier Louis J Robichaud who was their seventh child. When Louis J wanted to go to college, he knew he couldn’t ask his father so asked his mother who convinced his father. His older brothers helped put him through college by working in the mill. His friend Dr. George Dumont convinced him to get into politics and eventually elected Premier in 1960. Eugenie had forty-seven grandchildren, each receiving a pair of mittens at Christmas.
