Biography:Ethel Maynard Bulman was the daughter of John T. Maynard and Jessie Burrows of Bedford, Nova Scotia. She married Edward Bulman on December 3, 1918 and they settled in Moncton, New Brunswick. They settled on a farm at Hildegard, which is near Magnetic Hill. Ethel was a homemaker, played the piano and was a quilter. They raised a family of nine children. She hooked a mat almost every winter, sometimes with the help of her daughter Jessie. She used whatever material she had. Her youngest son, Frank, remembers rugs being in every room of the house. The children, grandchildren and great grandchildren inherited her rugs.
