Biography:In 1940, Bessie English Thomson married Leigh Thomson (-2002) (grandson of Eliza Thompson) and moved to Dipper Harbour where Leigh was a fisherman. They had seven children, four girls and three boys. She was active in the local Baptist Church, loved to quilt and do needlepoint but her passion was flowers and she grew beautiful dahlias. She started hooking when the children were older.
