| Biography: | Bessie Bruce Wheaton [Robinson] Babcock lived Mount View which was also called Beech Hill and was near Middle Sackville. She married a William Robinson in 1892, then Sewell Babcock in 1894. She later moved to Pointe de Bute and after 1915 to Sackville until her death in 1947. She had one child from her first marriage and four from her second. She lived on a farm. She was involved in the Baptist and United Church and attended hooking groups and teas. She referred to quilting in her journals and had hooking frames in her house. Her ethnic background is Scottish, possibly British. Her educational background is unknown, but her journals indicated that she had good writing and language skills. |
